Suavecito "Strong Hold" Pomade
What is it?
This pomade, made by Suavecito, is a hair care product designed to keep your hair in place until the end of time. This is the "strong hold" variety and it's pretty true to its name.
To apply it, simply rub some vigorously between your hands and mush it through your mane. Then work it through with a comb. I prefer to do this a few minutes after I shower, when my hair is a little wet, as it's easier to work in. However, you get a better hold if you apply it to dry hair. Whatever floats your boat.
How does it... hold up?
Pretty well. I've been using this stuff for a while now and it stays all day under most conditions. In fact, I was on a boat the other day with the wind blowing in my hair pretty hard and it didn't move. It's more stubborn than I am, and that's saying something.
One great thing is that it's water soluble, so you can quickly wet it and fix it if something goes horribly wrong with your head for some reason. Your hair shouldn't be greasy after washing it out, either.
This pomade will make your hair look darker and maybe a little wet. But perhaps that's your thing. I'm alright with it. I part my hair to the left with it and I look pretty damn professional.
Something random that I really enjoy about it: the smell. I'm not quite sure how to describe it, but it's nice. Smells like a barber shop.
Lastly, it's made in the United States. Something something cherry on top.
Is it worth it?
Coming in at about $12 for a 4 ounce bottle, some might call it a little pricey. That might be the only downside, honestly. As someone who is terrible at getting a timely haircut, I go through more of it than the average person might. But that's my own fault. I'd say it's worth the price since it really does hold all day. It does what it advertises, and that's cool.
